Coming on Valentine’s Day is the Road To Swingathon Valentine’s event. So let's find out all about it.
Q. Can you let our readers know what your Road To Swingathon is all about?
A. Road To Swingathon is a nationwide series of monthly, low-key themed club nights hosted at lifestyle-friendly venues around the country. Each event is designed to bring people together in a more intimate, relaxed setting, whether they are returning Swingathon guests, members of the wider lifestyle community, or first-timers who are curious about the festival.
These nights offer guests the opportunity to meet the Swingathon team in person, connect with others outside of the main festival environment, and even take part in face-to-face ticket verification where needed.
Ultimately, Road To Swingathon is about building connection and community and creating a safe, enjoyable space where everyone feels welcome.
Q. How and why did you come up with the idea for Road To Swingathon?
A. Road To Swingathon originally started as a networking concept, but it evolved very quickly into something with a much bigger purpose. We realised that people did not just want a festival, they wanted a community, and community is built through connection.
These nights give us a space to meet guests outside of the festival setting, strengthen relationships, and ensure that people who are new or exploring the lifestyle feel supported from the start. It also gives us the opportunity to connect with clubs and their communities around the country, helping to build stronger relationships with venues and hosts.
A key part of the idea is also support: we genuinely wanted to contribute to the venues that keep the scene alive. We host these events to help bring business to the clubs, not to make profit ourselves. We do not take a penny from the door, in fact, it often costs us in the long term, but for us, it is worth it because the bigger picture matters.
Q. Who are welcome to attend this event and is there a dress code?
A. Road To Swingathon is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to everyone in the lifestyle, as well as first-timers and curious guests who are looking to explore in a safe, respectful environment.
What makes it unique is that it is not based on image, social status, money, fame, or gender. It is genuinely about the people and the atmosphere. Whether guests are experienced or attending their first lifestyle event, they are welcomed equally.
Dress code depends on the theme of each event, however dressing for the theme is encouraged but not essential. As long as guests are smartly presented and follow the venue’s dress policy, they will fit in perfectly. Some clubs may also have specific rules for different areas, and these will be communicated in advance.
Q. What are your main goals to achieve at Road To Swingathon?
A. The main goals of Road To Swingathon are:
To create a safe environment where guests feel comfortable and supported.
To build strong relationships with attendees and improve connection within the community.
To develop solid relationships with venue owners and support clubs around the country.
To keep breaking stigma around the lifestyle, by creating spaces that are welcoming and well-hosted.
To help first-timers and those with specific needs feel included and understood.
To give guests the chance to connect ahead of the main festival: Swingathon (16th–19th July)
Ultimately, it is about strengthening the culture around Swingathon, not just the event itself.
Q. For people coming to your event for the first time can you describe what the night will entail?
A. Road To Swingathon nights are designed to be fun, upbeat, and social, while still keeping a laid-back feel. Entertainment varies depending on the venue and theme, meaning no two events are ever quite the same.
Depending on the night, guests may experience:
themed club vibes (from classy to playful)
live vocalists or performance entertainment
visual displays
demonstrations (theme-based)
poker tables for specific poker-themed nights
foam parties or seasonal themes (Valentine’s, Christmas, etc.)
playrooms and hot tubs (depending on venue facilities).
A key focus is always the social side. We encourage mingling, conversation, and genuine connection because getting to know one another is a major part of what creates safety, comfort, and trust in the lifestyle.
Most importantly, we want first-timers to feel safe within moments of arriving. We strongly believe those first impressions matter and if a guest does not feel safe or welcomed when they walk in, we consider that a failure on our part.
Q. It is also a birthday celebration. Can you explain who the birthday person is and what their connection to Road To Swingathon is?
A. Yes, one of the Road To Swingathon events is also held as a birthday celebration for Mrs Swingathon, who is the co-founder of Swingathon and a key host within the brand and community.
She plays a huge part in the energy, care, and atmosphere that Swingathon is known for and celebrating her birthday at Road To Swingathon is a perfect reflection of what these nights are truly about: community, connection, and making memories together.
Before we finish, we also want to take a moment to say a truly heartfelt thank you to the Swingathon team and volunteers who support not only Road To Swingathon, but also the main Swingathon event itself. We will not be naming people publicly, but they absolutely know who they are.
These events simply would not be possible without the time, energy, dedication, and care that goes on behind the scenes. The work you all put in does not go unnoticed and it means more than we can ever properly put into words.
We also want to give a special thank you to the small businesses within the lifestyle community who attend and support the Road To Swingathon events. Your presence brings something extra to the nights, you help make them feel like a true community, and the support you give (and receive) plays a huge part in helping the lifestyle scene grow in a positive way.
We love you all, and we appreciate you more than you know.
Thank you so much Swingathon for this great interview and letting our readers know what is all about.
