Erotic Film Festival London

Erotic Film Festival London

Erotic Film Festival London is a celebration of erotic cinema as an art form on Thursday 2nd and Sunday 5th October in London. So let's find out all there is about this great event.

Q. Hello Erotic Film Festival London. Thank you for doing this interview. So could you let our readers know what Erotic Film Festival London is all about?

A. Erotic Film Festival London is a celebration of erotic cinema as an art form. We are here to showcase beautifully crafted short films that explore desire, intimacy, and human connection. For too long, erotic storytelling has been sidelined or reduced to a curiosity. Our festival is about giving it the creative respect it deserves, treating passion and pleasure as seriously as any other part of the human experience. We have handpicked a programme of daring, unforgettable films that cross genres and perspectives, all with the goal of inviting our audience to see desire through new eyes.

Q. How and why did you come up with this concept?

A. The idea was born out of a desire to create a space for a different kind of cinematic experience in London. We felt there was a real gap in the city's festival scene: a place where erotic film could be appreciated for its artistic merit without being dismissed or reduced to a gimmick. We were inspired by filmmakers who are pushing boundaries and telling complex, nuanced stories about sexuality. Our mission is to build a community around this idea and start a movement that recognises erotic cinema as a vital, yet under-explored, frontier in contemporary film.

Q. For people that will be coming for the first time or just hearing about it, what can they expect?

A. Expect an evening of storytelling, shared discovery, and unapologetic pleasure. This is not a passive viewing experience. We have curated a programme that is thought-provoking, sometimes provocative, and always honest. You will see films that range from playful and sensual to deeply intimate and experimental. It is an opportunity to connect with a community of open-minded people and be part of a unique, one-off event. Plus, every guest will receive a goody bag with treats from our partners to enjoy.

Q. You have two dates, Thursday 2nd October and  Sunday 5th October. Can you let our readers know what each day will consist of?

A. The two events are distinct experiences with different film lineups. On Thursday 2nd October at Coldharbour Blue, we will be hosting a cozy, intimate screening. It is our main film programme, featuring a handpicked collection of short films that celebrate sexuality in all its complexity: from intimate revelations to playful encounters. Most follow more of a narrative-based approach.

Then, on Sunday 5th October at the Love Affair Basement, we invite you to "Erotic Encounters." This evening is a little different, combining a daring selection of short films with live performances. The programme offers new ways of seeing and feeling desire, transforming the venue into a living exploration of erotic expression. It is a night of film and performance that promises moments of surprise, intensity, and pleasure. It will also include a panel discussion featuring Paulita Pappel, founder of Lustery among many other things, along with Lucy Roeber, editor of the Erotic Review.

Q. What do you hope people coming to these events will take away?

A. We hope they take away a sense of inspiration and a new appreciation for erotic film as a powerful and beautiful art form. We want people to leave feeling like they have seen something fresh, something that challenged their perspective and celebrated a part of life: desire, passion, and longing that is too often kept in the dark. Ultimately, we hope they feel like they were a part of the beginning of something special and are excited to see what this movement becomes.
