Q. Can you let our readers know what The Alternative Awards 2025 are all about?
A. The Alternative Awards are all about celebrating and rewarding those in the lifestyle and in the alternative industries, by showing recognition to those that normally get overlooked, and by creating a fully transparent awards event, this way we can recognise and award accordingly, especially as were an 'open to all' policy.
Q. Why and how did you come up with these awards?
A. Being Twisted Edge, the awards has always been a 'thought' and a 'needs to happen' kind of event. We have been to many and seen the good and the bad, and by being around as long as Twisted Edge has, we have a finger on the pulse of the alternative already and have been involved and invested in the Lifestyle more so over the past few years. So by combining the two, it creates much more than a singular awards event.
Q. For people coming on the night what can they expect?
A. They can simply expect a great relaxed atmosphere. They will be entertained, informed and they will get to meet amazing people and obviously the chance of winning an award is just an icing on the cake. There is no false pretence, no bravado, just genuine people there for genuine reasons to have a great night.
Q. You have acts on the night. Could you tease our readers with a little bit about some of them?
A. We will be having three awesome acts (all being confirmed as we speak) all offering something different and special in their own right, nothing short of being a spectacle of visual awesomeness.
Q. You have two industry sections being represented Lifestyle and Alternative. Can you let our readers know the difference between each one?
A. So alternative by definition is that which isn't the 'normal', so whether that means tattooed or pierced or living an alternative lifestyle. Alternative gets a stereotype to it, but thats what made Twisted Edge become...Twisted Edge.
Lifestyle again similar in its definition applies to those in the swinging lifestyle, bdsm and beyond. The term swinging or swingers is probably the most known terminology but 'swinging' is not just what people would think. There are a lot more areas involved and many categories so to speak.

Q. Can you explain to our readers a little bit about who Twisted Edge magazine and Thirteen Events are?
A. Twisted Edge is the longest running alternative lifestyle magazine that showcases models, photographers, brands and everything else therein. We have been around for eleven and a half years now, moved to being the first fully print magazine since 2015 and show no signs of slowing or stopping anytime soon.
Thirteen Events is the event brand alongside Twisted Edge that has now been around for just over a year. Thirteen Events run all the shoot days, collect information and schedule each event to get the best out of any shoot day, run the days to make sure all are happy and enjoying the days. Fully insured and with a huge background in event management, there aren't many (if any) better event organisers around that can do it the way Thirteen does. The fact that they work exclusively with Spearmint Rhino on all events speaks volumes.
